SpCrossreactivity
The following compounds were tested for cross-reactivity with the Direct Cortisol Saliva ELISA kit with cortisol cross-reacting at 100%; Cortisol, 100%, Prednisolone (13%), Corticosterone, Deoxycorticosterone, Progesterone, Cortisone, Deoxycortisol, Pednisone (5-7%), Dexamethasone (1-2%). No cross reaction was detected with DHEAS and Tetrahydrocortisone. Human cortisol kit has been designed and tested for human samples. Another kit for human serum or plasma is available. It has not been tested in animals (rat, mouse, etc). Since the steroid hormone is the same in many species, this kit should work in most species as long as the steroid concentration is within the range of this kit.
